| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 42.153(a), Education Code, is amended to | |
| 11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a) For each student in average daily attendance in a | |
| 13 | 13 | bilingual education or special language program under Subchapter B, | |
| 14 | 14 | Chapter 29, a district is entitled to an annual allotment equal to | |
| 15 | 15 | the adjusted basic allotment multiplied by: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) 0.1; or | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) 0.3 if the student is in a bilingual education | |
| 18 | 18 | program using a dual language immersion/one-way or two-way program | |
| 19 | 19 | model. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
