55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the use of alternative methods to satisfy certain
88 public high school graduation requirements for certain students.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 12.104(b-3), Education Code, is amended
1111 to read as follows:
1212 (b-3) An open-enrollment charter school is subject to the
1313 graduation qualification procedure established by the commissioner
1414 under Section 28.02541. This subsection expires September 1, 2021
1515 [2019].
1616 SECTION 2. Section 28.02541(g), Education Code, is amended
1717 to read as follows:
1818 (g) This section expires September 1, 2021 [2019].
1919 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2020 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2121 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2222 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2323 Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the
2424 legislative session.
