46 AN ACT
57 relating to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission.
68 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
79 SECTION 1. Section 436.105(d), Government Code, is amended
810 to read as follows:
911 (d) The task force is abolished and this section expires
1012 September 1, 2023 [2021].
1113 SECTION 2. Section 436.205(b), Government Code, is amended
1214 to read as follows:
1315 (b) The panel shall evaluate each grant application and
1416 assign the applicant a score based on:
1517 (1) the significance of the adverse or positive effect
1618 within the local governmental entity[, including the number of jobs
1719 that may be lost or gained in relation to the workforce in the local
1820 governmental entity's jurisdiction and the effect on the entity's
1921 and surrounding area's economy and tax revenue]; and
2022 (2) any other criteria established by the commission
2123 [the extent to which the local governmental entity may have used its
2224 existing resources to promote local economic development;
2325 [(3) the amount of any grant that the local
2426 governmental entity has previously received under this subchapter;
2527 [(4) the anticipated number of jobs that may be
2628 created or retained in relation to the amount of the grant sought;
2729 and
2830 [(5) the extent to which the grant will affect the
2931 region in which the local governmental entity is located].
3032 SECTION 3. Section 436.207, Government Code, is repealed.
3133 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
