| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 214, Local Government | |
| 11 | 11 | Code, is amended by adding Section 214.907 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 214.907. LIMITATION ON ENFORCEMENT OF CERTAIN | |
| 13 | 13 | MUNICIPAL BUILDING REGULATIONS. (a) This section applies only to a | |
| 14 | 14 | single-family residential structure. | |
| 15 | 15 | (b) A municipality that issues a permit to improve a part of | |
| 16 | 16 | a residential structure may not require the owner of the structure | |
| 17 | 17 | to comply with a municipal requirement that is: | |
| 18 | 18 | (1) applicable to another part of the structure that | |
| 19 | 19 | is not being improved; and | |
| 20 | 20 | (2) not necessary for the permitted improvement. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
