A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the use of state funds for enforcement of commercial
motor vehicle electronic logging device requirements.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 644, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 644.006 to read as follows:
Sec. 644.006. ENFORCEMENT OF ELECTRONIC LOGGING DEVICE
REQUIREMENTS. State funds may not be used to implement or enforce
the federal electronic logging device requirements of 49 C.F.R.
Part 395 or state rules adopted to implement those requirements.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
