8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 305.026, Government Code, is amended by | |
10 | 10 | adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (c-1) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, | |
12 | 12 | an appraisal district may not use public money to directly or | |
13 | 13 | indirectly influence or attempt to influence the passage or defeat | |
14 | 14 | of any legislation pending before the legislature. This subsection | |
15 | 15 | does not prevent an appraisal district employee from providing | |
16 | 16 | information for a member of the legislature or appearing before a | |
17 | 17 | legislative committee at the request of the committee or the member | |
18 | 18 | of the legislature. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
