| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 18.065, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (e) to read as | |
| 12 | 12 | follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (a) The secretary of state shall quarterly monitor each | |
| 14 | 14 | registrar for substantial compliance with Sections 15.083, 16.032, | |
| 15 | 15 | and 18.061 and with rules implementing the statewide computerized | |
| 16 | 16 | voter registration list. | |
| 17 | 17 | (e) A registrar who fails to correct a violation within 30 | |
| 18 | 18 | days of the receipt of a notice under Subsection (b) commits an | |
| 19 | 19 | offense. An offense under this subsection is a state jail felony. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
