55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to abolishing the regulation of orthotic and prosthetic
88 technicians.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. The following provisions of the Occupations Code
1111 are repealed:
1212 (1) Sections 605.002(19), (20), and (21); and
1313 (2) Section 605.259.
1414 SECTION 2. (a) On the effective date of this Act, a
1515 registered orthotic technician or registered prosthetic technician
1616 certificate issued under former Section 605.259, Occupations Code,
1717 expires.
1818 (b) As soon as practicable after the effective date of this
1919 Act, the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation shall repeal
2020 all rules regarding the regulation of orthotic and prosthetic
2121 technicians adopted under Chapter 605, Occupations Code.
2222 SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act does not
2323 affect the validity of a proceeding pending before a court or other
2424 governmental entity on the effective date of this Act.
2525 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
