9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 701.151(b), Occupations Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (b) The commission or the department, as appropriate, | |
13 | 13 | shall: | |
14 | 14 | (1) [adopt an official seal; | |
15 | 15 | [(2)] adopt and publish a code of ethics; | |
16 | 16 | (2) [(3)] establish the qualifications and fitness of | |
17 | 17 | applicants for licenses, including renewed and reciprocal | |
18 | 18 | licenses; | |
19 | 19 | [(4) revoke, suspend, or deny a license, probate a | |
20 | 20 | license suspension, or reprimand a license holder for a violation | |
21 | 21 | of this chapter, a rule adopted under this chapter, or the code of | |
22 | 22 | ethics;] and | |
23 | 23 | (3) [(5)] request and receive any necessary | |
24 | 24 | assistance from state educational institutions or other state | |
25 | 25 | agencies. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 2. Sections 701.155 and 701.353, Occupations Code, | |
27 | 27 | are repealed. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
