9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 547.305, Transportation Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | by adding Subsection (e-3) and amending Subsection (f) to read as | |
12 | 12 | follows: | |
13 | 13 | (e-3) An escort flag vehicle may be equipped with | |
14 | 14 | alternating or flashing blue and amber lights. | |
15 | 15 | (f) In this section: | |
16 | 16 | (1) "Escort flag vehicle" means a vehicle that | |
17 | 17 | precedes or follows an oversize or overweight vehicle described by | |
18 | 18 | Subtitle E for the purpose of facilitating the safe movement of the | |
19 | 19 | oversize or overweight vehicle over roads. | |
20 | 20 | (2) "Security patrol vehicle" means a motor vehicle | |
21 | 21 | being used for the purpose of providing security services by: | |
22 | 22 | (A) a guard company described by Section | |
23 | 23 | 1702.108, Occupations Code; or | |
24 | 24 | (B) a security officer as defined by Section | |
25 | 25 | 1702.002, Occupations Code. | |
26 | 26 | (3) [(2)] "Tow truck" means a motor vehicle or | |
27 | 27 | mechanical device that is adapted or used to tow, winch, or move a | |
28 | 28 | disabled vehicle. | |
29 | 29 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
