66 AN ACT
77 relating to the use of certain lighting equipment on escort flag
88 vehicles.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 547.305, Transportation Code, is amended
1111 by adding Subsection (e-3) and amending Subsection (f) to read as
1212 follows:
1313 (e-3) An escort flag vehicle may be equipped with
1414 alternating or flashing blue and amber lights.
1515 (f) In this section:
1616 (1) "Escort flag vehicle" means a vehicle that
1717 precedes or follows an oversize or overweight vehicle described by
1818 Subtitle E for the purpose of facilitating the safe movement of the
1919 oversize or overweight vehicle over roads.
2020 (2) "Security patrol vehicle" means a motor vehicle
2121 being used for the purpose of providing security services by:
2222 (A) a guard company described by Section
2323 1702.108, Occupations Code; or
2424 (B) a security officer as defined by Section
2525 1702.002, Occupations Code.
2626 (3) [(2)] "Tow truck" means a motor vehicle or
2727 mechanical device that is adapted or used to tow, winch, or move a
2828 disabled vehicle.
2929 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
