| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. (a) The Texas Lottery Commission shall study the | |
| 11 | 11 | legalization of gambling on riverboats and boats operated on bays | |
| 12 | 12 | of this state. The study shall examine: | |
| 13 | 13 | (1) the potential impact on state revenue of legalized | |
| 14 | 14 | gambling; | |
| 15 | 15 | (2) the social implications of legalized gambling; and | |
| 16 | 16 | (3) any other issue the commission determines | |
| 17 | 17 | relevant. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b) Not later than December 31, 2020, the Texas Lottery | |
| 19 | 19 | Commission shall submit to the governor, the lieutenant governor, | |
| 20 | 20 | and the speaker of the house of representatives a report on the | |
| 21 | 21 | findings of the study. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
