| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. (a) The Texas Department of Transportation | |
| 12 | 12 | shall conduct a study to identify in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties: | |
| 13 | 13 | (1) necessary infrastructure improvements to county | |
| 14 | 14 | roads; and | |
| 15 | 15 | (2) potential corridors that could be designated for | |
| 16 | 16 | the use of oversize and overweight vehicles. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) Not later than January 1, 2021, the Texas Department of | |
| 18 | 18 | Transportation shall submit a report on the results of the study to | |
| 19 | 19 | the governor, the lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of | |
| 20 | 20 | representatives, and the presiding officer of each standing | |
| 21 | 21 | committee of the legislature with jurisdiction over transportation | |
| 22 | 22 | matters. The report must contain recommendations for any necessary | |
| 23 | 23 | infrastructure improvements or designations of oversize and | |
| 24 | 24 | overweight vehicle corridors in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties. | |
| 25 | 25 | (c) This Act expires August 31, 2021. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
