| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. (a) The Port of Corpus Christi Authority of | |
| 11 | 11 | Nueces County, Texas, is subject to review under Chapter 325, | |
| 12 | 12 | Government Code (Texas Sunset Act), as if the authority were a state | |
| 13 | 13 | agency, but the authority may not be abolished under that chapter. | |
| 14 | 14 | The review shall be conducted as if the authority were scheduled to | |
| 15 | 15 | be abolished September 1, 2021, and every 12th year after that year. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) The review must assess the authority's governance, | |
| 17 | 17 | management, and operating structure, and the authority's | |
| 18 | 18 | compliance with legislative requirements. | |
| 19 | 19 | (c) The authority shall pay the cost incurred by the Sunset | |
| 20 | 20 | Advisory Commission in performing a review of the authority under | |
| 21 | 21 | this section. The Sunset Advisory Commission shall determine the | |
| 22 | 22 | cost, and the authority shall pay the amount promptly on receipt of | |
| 23 | 23 | a statement from the Sunset Advisory Commission detailing the cost. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
