9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 531, Government Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 531.0586 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 531.0586. BILL OF RIGHTS FOR HOME HEALTH CARE | |
13 | 13 | ATTENDANTS AT CERTAIN LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES. (a) The | |
14 | 14 | commission, in collaboration with the Texas Workforce Commission, | |
15 | 15 | shall prepare and publish on the commission's Internet website a | |
16 | 16 | bill of rights for home health care attendants employed by a | |
17 | 17 | long-term care facility licensed under Chapter 103, Human Resources | |
18 | 18 | Code, or Chapter 242, 247, 248A, or 252, Health and Safety Code. | |
19 | 19 | (b) The bill of rights must include a description of any | |
20 | 20 | federal or state labor laws applicable to home health care | |
21 | 21 | attendants. | |
22 | 22 | (c) A facility described by Subsection (a) must provide each | |
23 | 23 | home health care attendant employed by the facility with a copy of | |
24 | 24 | the bill of rights. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
