7 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

8 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |

9 | 11 | | is amended by adding Section 504.6551 to read as follows: |

10 | 12 | | Sec. 504.6551. PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH LICENSE PLATES. |
---|
11 | 13 | | (a) The department shall issue specialty license plates that |
---|
12 | 14 | | include the words "Kids Shouldn't Have Cancer." The department |
---|
13 | 15 | | shall design the plates in consultation with the Kids Shouldn't |
---|
14 | 16 | | Have Cancer Foundation. |
---|
15 | 17 | | (b) After deduction of the department's administrative |
---|
16 | 18 | | costs, the remainder of the fee for issuance of the license plates |
---|
17 | 19 | | shall be deposited to the credit of the cancer prevention and |
---|
18 | 20 | | research fund established by Section 102.201, Health and Safety |
---|
19 | 21 | | Code. Money deposited to that account may be used only to fund |
---|
20 | 22 | | pediatric cancer research. |
---|
21 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
