79 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
810 SECTION 1. The heading to Article 2.126, Code of Criminal
911 Procedure, is amended to read as follows:
1012 Art. 2.126. PEACE OFFICERS COMMISSIONED BY THE
1113 ALABAMA-COUSHATTA [INDIAN] TRIBE OF TEXAS AND THE KICKAPOO
1214 TRADITIONAL TRIBE OF TEXAS.
1315 SECTION 2. Article 2.126(a), Code of Criminal Procedure, is
1416 amended to read as follows:
1517 (a) The tribal council of the Alabama-Coushatta [Indian]
1618 Tribe of Texas or the tribal council of the Kickapoo Traditional
1719 Tribe of Texas is authorized to employ and commission peace
1820 officers for the purpose of enforcing state law within the
1921 boundaries of the tribe's reservation.
2022 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
