10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 28.002, Education Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (d-1) The State Board of Education, in consultation with the | |
14 | 14 | Parks and Wildlife Department, shall develop a hunter education | |
15 | 15 | course for students in grades 7 through 12 that a school district | |
16 | 16 | may use in the district's physical education curriculum under | |
17 | 17 | Subsection (a)(2)(C). | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2019-2020 | |
19 | 19 | school year. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
