96 relating to the availability of certain information regarding the
107 members of the governing body of an independent school district or a
118 public junior college district on the district's Internet website.
129 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1310 SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 11, Education Code, is
1411 amended by adding Section 11.1518 to read as follows:
15- Sec. 11.1518. TRUSTEE INFORMATION POSTED ON WEBSITE. (a)
16- Each school district that maintains an Internet website shall post
17- on the website the name, e-mail address, and term of office,
18- including the date the term began and the date the term expires, of
19- each member of the district's board of trustees.
20- (b) If a school district does not maintain an Internet
21- website, the district shall submit the information required by
22- Subsection (a) to the agency. On receipt of the district's
23- information, the agency shall post the information on the agency's
24- Internet website.
25- (c) Each time there is a change in the membership of a school
26- district's board of trustees, the district shall update the
27- information required under Subsection (a) and, as applicable:
28- (1) post the updated information on the district's
29- Internet website; or
30- (2) submit the updated information to the agency for
31- posting on the agency's Internet website in accordance with
32- Subsection (b).

13+ (a) Each school district shall post on the district's Internet
14+ website the name, e-mail address, and term of office, including the
15+ date the term began and the date the term expires, of each member of
16+ the district's board of trustees.
17+ (b) The information required under Subsection (a) must be
18+ updated each time there is a change in the membership of the board
19+ of trustees.
3320 SECTION 2. Subchapter E, Chapter 130, Education Code, is
3421 amended by adding Section 130.0841 to read as follows:
3522 Sec. 130.0841. GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER INFORMATION POSTED ON
3623 WEBSITE. (a) Each junior college district shall post on the
3724 district's Internet website the name, e-mail address, and term of
3825 office, including the date the term began and the date the term
3926 expires, of each member of the governing board of the district.
4027 (b) The information required under Subsection (a) must be
4128 updated each time there is a change in the membership of the
4229 governing board.
4330 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
