9	6		relating to the availability of certain information regarding the
10	7		members of the governing body of an independent school district or a
11	8		public junior college district on the district's Internet website.
12	9		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
13	10		SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 11, Education Code, is
14	11		amended by adding Section 11.1518 to read as follows:
15		-	Sec. 11.1518. TRUSTEE INFORMATION POSTED ON WEBSITE. (a)
16		-	Each school district that maintains an Internet website shall post
17		-	on the website the name, e-mail address, and term of office,
18		-	including the date the term began and the date the term expires, of
19		-	each member of the district's board of trustees.
20		-	(b) If a school district does not maintain an Internet
21		-	website, the district shall submit the information required by
22		-	Subsection (a) to the agency. On receipt of the district's
23		-	information, the agency shall post the information on the agency's
24		-	Internet website.
25		-	(c) Each time there is a change in the membership of a school
26		-	district's board of trustees, the district shall update the
27		-	information required under Subsection (a) and, as applicable:
28		-	(1) post the updated information on the district's
29		-	Internet website; or
30		-	(2) submit the updated information to the agency for
31		-	posting on the agency's Internet website in accordance with
32		-	Subsection (b).

	13	+	(a) Each school district shall post on the district's Internet
	14	+	website the name, e-mail address, and term of office, including the
	15	+	date the term began and the date the term expires, of each member of
	16	+	the district's board of trustees.
	17	+	(b) The information required under Subsection (a) must be
	18	+	updated each time there is a change in the membership of the board
	19	+	of trustees.
33	20		SECTION 2. Subchapter E, Chapter 130, Education Code, is
34	21		amended by adding Section 130.0841 to read as follows:
35	22		Sec. 130.0841. GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER INFORMATION POSTED ON
36	23		WEBSITE. (a) Each junior college district shall post on the
37	24		district's Internet website the name, e-mail address, and term of
38	25		office, including the date the term began and the date the term
39	26		expires, of each member of the governing board of the district.
40	27		(b) The information required under Subsection (a) must be
41	28		updated each time there is a change in the membership of the
42	29		governing board.
43	30		SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
