7 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

8 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 31.002(a), Civil Practice and Remedies |
---|
9 | 11 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |

10 | 12 | | (a) A judgment creditor is entitled to aid from a court of |
---|
11 | 13 | | appropriate jurisdiction, including a justice court, through |
---|
12 | 14 | | injunction or other means in order to reach property to obtain |
---|
13 | 15 | | satisfaction on the judgment if the judgment debtor owns property, |
---|
14 | 16 | | including present or future rights to property, that is not exempt |
---|
15 | 17 | | from attachment, execution, or seizure for the satisfaction of |
---|
16 | 18 | | liabilities. |
---|
17 | 19 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to the |
---|
18 | 20 | | collection of any judgment, regardless of whether the judgment was |
---|
19 | 21 | | entered before, on, or after the effective date of this Act. |
---|
20 | 22 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
