10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 67, Education Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 67.28 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 67.28. COORDINATED ADMISSION PROGRAM. In | |
14 | 14 | administering the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP) or a | |
15 | 15 | successor admissions program under which a student may earn | |
16 | 16 | guaranteed transfer admission to the university after successfully | |
17 | 17 | completing specified program requirements while enrolled for the | |
18 | 18 | student's freshman year at another participating institution of | |
19 | 19 | higher education within The University of Texas System, the | |
20 | 20 | university, in allotting CAP admission slots among participating | |
21 | 21 | institutions for an academic year, shall reserve a portion of | |
22 | 22 | admission slots at each participating institution for students who | |
23 | 23 | are enrolled at that institution at the time they apply for | |
24 | 24 | admission to CAP. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 2. Section 67.28, Education Code, as added by this | |
26 | 26 | Act, applies beginning with admissions to the Coordinated Admission | |
27 | 27 | Program at The University of Texas at Austin for the 2020-2021 | |
28 | 28 | academic year. | |
29 | 29 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
