66 AN ACT
77 relating to certain requirements for the administration of the
88 Coordinated Admission Program (CAP) at The University of Texas at
99 Austin.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 67, Education Code, is
1212 amended by adding Section 67.28 to read as follows:
1313 Sec. 67.28. COORDINATED ADMISSION PROGRAM. In
1414 administering the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP) or a
1515 successor admissions program under which a student may earn
1616 guaranteed transfer admission to the university after successfully
1717 completing specified program requirements while enrolled for the
1818 student's freshman year at another participating institution of
1919 higher education within The University of Texas System, the
2020 university, in allotting CAP admission slots among participating
2121 institutions for an academic year, shall reserve a portion of
2222 admission slots at each participating institution for students who
2323 are enrolled at that institution at the time they apply for
2424 admission to CAP.
2525 SECTION 2. Section 67.28, Education Code, as added by this
2626 Act, applies beginning with admissions to the Coordinated Admission
2727 Program at The University of Texas at Austin for the 2020-2021
2828 academic year.
2929 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
