| 25 | 22 | BENEFITS PROHIBITED. (a) A political subdivision of this state | |
| 26 | 23 | may not adopt or enforce an ordinance, order, rule, regulation, or | |
| 27 | 24 | policy mandating a private employer's terms of employment relating | |
| 28 | 25 | to employment benefits, including health, disability, retirement, | |
| 29 | 26 | profit-sharing, death, and group accidental death and | |
| 30 | 27 | dismemberment benefits. | |
| 31 | 28 | (b) An ordinance, order, rule, regulation, or policy that | |
| 32 | 29 | violates Subsection (a) is void and unenforceable. | |
| 33 | - | Sec. 84.003. EFFECT OF CHAPTER. This chapter does not | |
| 34 | - | affect: | |
| 35 | - | (1) the Texas Minimum Wage Act under Chapter 62; or | |
| 36 | - | (2) an ordinance, order, rule, regulation, or policy | |
| 37 | - | that prohibits employment discrimination, regardless of whether | |
| 38 | - | the ordinance, order, rule, regulation, or policy is adopted | |
| 39 | - | before, on, or after September 1, 2019. | |
| 40 | - | SECTION 2. Chapter 84, Labor Code, as added by this Act, | |
