 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, Shawn Kennington concluded his tenure as mayor of
 Pittsburg in 2019, having served the city and its residents with
 distinction for 13 years; and
 WHEREAS, A Pittsburg native, Mr. Kennington graduated from
 Pittsburg High School and the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service
 before beginning his career with Erman Smith Funeral Home in 1994;
 his civic involvement has included eight years on the city's
 Planning and Zoning Committee, and he also shared his expertise
 with Northeast Texas Community College in 2016 and 2017 as a member
 of an advisory committee focused on the college's funeral service
 education program; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to his work as mayor, Mr. Kennington
 served as a deputy constable for Camp County for three and a half
 years before embarking on a new role as constable on March 1, 2019;
 he is a member of the Rotary Club of Pittsburg, the Texas Heritage
 Museum, and the board of the Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Center
 and Museum, and he is an active member of the congregation at Greer
 Boulevard Church of Christ; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Kennington enjoys the love and support of his
 wife of 22 years, Amy Kennington, and they take great pride in their
 two daughters, Payton and Chloe; and
 WHEREAS, Shawn Kennington demonstrated exceptional
 dedication and leadership in guiding Pittsburg's city government,
 and he may reflect with well-deserved satisfaction on his many
 contributions as he assumes his new responsibilities as Camp County
 constable; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas
 hereby honor Shawn Kennington for his service as mayor of Pittsburg
 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Kennington as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
