3 | 3 | | enhanced by the devoted efforts of individuals such as Carol |

4 | 4 | | Greer, whose tireless work has contributed immeasurably to the |

5 | 5 | | quality of life in her hometown of Hallsville; and |
---|
6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Hallsville and a proud |
---|
7 | 7 | | Hallsville Independent School District Bobcat, Mrs. Greer earned |
---|
8 | 8 | | a bachelor's degree in elementary and physical education and went |
---|
9 | 9 | | on to receive a master's degree and an administrative |
---|
10 | 10 | | certification in education; following in the footsteps of her |
---|
11 | 11 | | mother, a first-grade teacher in Hallsville, Mrs. Greer taught |
---|
12 | 12 | | ninth-grade English before filling the district's need for a |
---|
13 | 13 | | physical education instructor, a job that became her passion for |
---|
14 | 14 | | 25 years; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, After receiving training in public relations, |
---|
16 | 16 | | Mrs. Greer transitioned to the role of district spokeswoman and |
---|
17 | 17 | | then to community outreach coordinator; her work has involved |
---|
18 | 18 | | serving as a liaison with the public and sharing stories about |
---|
19 | 19 | | school activities and student achievements through various |
---|
20 | 20 | | Hallsville Independent School District publications; in |
---|
21 | 21 | | addition, she has helped oversee many district events and |
---|
22 | 22 | | programs, while also maintaining the upkeep of its website, |
---|
23 | 23 | | social media pages, yearbooks, and scrapbooks; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Greer has volunteered her time in behalf of |
---|
25 | 25 | | the wider community by assisting with the coordination of a |
---|
26 | 26 | | multitude of parades and other events, including festivities for |
---|
27 | 27 | | the 150th anniversary of Hallsville's founding in 2019; known by |
---|
28 | 28 | | the nickname "Mrs. Hallsville" by many, she has been honored as a |
---|
29 | 29 | | Distinguished Alumna of Hallsville High School and as a Citizen |
---|
30 | 30 | | of the Year by the Hallsville Chamber of Commerce; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Carol Greer has demonstrated a lasting commitment |
---|
32 | 32 | | to making Hallsville a better place for all, and in so doing, she |
---|
33 | 33 | | has earned the deep respect and appreciation of her fellow |
---|
34 | 34 | | residents; now, therefore, be it |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
---|
36 | 36 | | Legislature, hereby commend Carol Greer for her contributions to |
---|
37 | 37 | | the Hallsville Independent School District and the Hallsville |
---|
38 | 38 | | community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
---|
39 | 39 | | happiness and fulfillment in her work; and, be it further |
