11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 12
22 WHEREAS, The strength and cohesion of our communities are
33 enhanced by the devoted efforts of individuals such as Carol
44 Greer, whose tireless work has contributed immeasurably to the
55 quality of life in her hometown of Hallsville; and
66 WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Hallsville and a proud
77 Hallsville Independent School District Bobcat, Mrs. Greer earned
88 a bachelor's degree in elementary and physical education and went
99 on to receive a master's degree and an administrative
1010 certification in education; following in the footsteps of her
1111 mother, a first-grade teacher in Hallsville, Mrs. Greer taught
1212 ninth-grade English before filling the district's need for a
1313 physical education instructor, a job that became her passion for
1414 25 years; and
1515 WHEREAS, After receiving training in public relations,
1616 Mrs. Greer transitioned to the role of district spokeswoman and
1717 then to community outreach coordinator; her work has involved
1818 serving as a liaison with the public and sharing stories about
1919 school activities and student achievements through various
2020 Hallsville Independent School District publications; in
2121 addition, she has helped oversee many district events and
2222 programs, while also maintaining the upkeep of its website,
2323 social media pages, yearbooks, and scrapbooks; and
2424 WHEREAS, Mrs. Greer has volunteered her time in behalf of
2525 the wider community by assisting with the coordination of a
2626 multitude of parades and other events, including festivities for
2727 the 150th anniversary of Hallsville's founding in 2019; known by
2828 the nickname "Mrs. Hallsville" by many, she has been honored as a
2929 Distinguished Alumna of Hallsville High School and as a Citizen
3030 of the Year by the Hallsville Chamber of Commerce; and
3131 WHEREAS, Carol Greer has demonstrated a lasting commitment
3232 to making Hallsville a better place for all, and in so doing, she
3333 has earned the deep respect and appreciation of her fellow
3434 residents; now, therefore, be it
3535 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
3636 Legislature, hereby commend Carol Greer for her contributions to
3737 the Hallsville Independent School District and the Hallsville
3838 community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
3939 happiness and fulfillment in her work; and, be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
4141 prepared for Mrs. Greer as an expression of high regard by the
4242 Texas Senate.
