| 3 | 3 | | recognize Lynne Hayes, who served as emcee for the Dallas Black |

| 4 | 4 | | Chamber Center for Excellence Inaugural Benefit Concert on |

| 5 | 5 | | September 7, 2018; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce was founded |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | in 1926 and is the oldest black chamber of commerce in the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | country; its Center for Excellence has had a positive impact on |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the fabric of life in the Dallas community as a result of its |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | focus on charitable, literary, educational, and scientific |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | projects; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Proceeds from the center's concert were used to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | benefit the chamber's scholarship program and its new building |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | capital campaign; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Lynne Hayes is a well-known radio personality who |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | is also one of the most sought-after voiceover talents in the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | industry; in addition to her work in radio, she has recorded |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | commercials for major corporations, graced the stage as an emcee |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | for numerous events and causes, and established Meeting in the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Ladies Room workshops to provide women opportunities to gather, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | network, and socialize in a loving, stress-free environment; it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | is truly fitting that she receive special recognition for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | performing at this charitable event; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Lynne Hayes on her many achievements |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and extend to her appreciation for her participation in the Center |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | for Excellence Inaugural Benefit Concert; and, be it further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
