11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 122
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize Lynne Hayes, who served as emcee for the Dallas Black
44 Chamber Center for Excellence Inaugural Benefit Concert on
55 September 7, 2018; and
66 WHEREAS, The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce was founded
77 in 1926 and is the oldest black chamber of commerce in the
88 country; its Center for Excellence has had a positive impact on
99 the fabric of life in the Dallas community as a result of its
1010 focus on charitable, literary, educational, and scientific
1111 projects; and
1212 WHEREAS, Proceeds from the center's concert were used to
1313 benefit the chamber's scholarship program and its new building
1414 capital campaign; and
1515 WHEREAS, Lynne Hayes is a well-known radio personality who
1616 is also one of the most sought-after voiceover talents in the
1717 industry; in addition to her work in radio, she has recorded
1818 commercials for major corporations, graced the stage as an emcee
1919 for numerous events and causes, and established Meeting in the
2020 Ladies Room workshops to provide women opportunities to gather,
2121 network, and socialize in a loving, stress-free environment; it
2222 is truly fitting that she receive special recognition for
2323 performing at this charitable event; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
2525 Legislature, hereby commend Lynne Hayes on her many achievements
2626 and extend to her appreciation for her participation in the Center
2727 for Excellence Inaugural Benefit Concert; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2929 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
