| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Texas Food and Fuel Association, which is |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | celebrating February 12, 2019, as Texas Food and Fuel Association |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Day at the Capitol; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Food and Fuel Association was |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | established in 1949, and today, it represents more than 600 |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | companies in the wholesale and retail segments of the fuel |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | marketing, convenience, and food industries in Texas; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The association's membership includes |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | single-store operators, as well as some of the nation's largest |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and most innovative retail chains; member companies own, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | operate, and supply in excess of 12,000 convenience stores |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | located across the state; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of its chairman, Cary Rabb, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the association supports and promotes a wide variety of wholesale |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | food and fuel distribution operations and manages such related |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | businesses as bulk storage facilities and unattended fueling |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | locations; association members distribute approximately seven |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | billion gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel each year; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Convenience stores and related businesses are a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | vital part of the state's transportation infrastructure, and for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 70 years, the Texas Food and Fuel Association has been |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | instrumental in their success; it is truly fitting that a day be |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | set aside to honor this organization; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Food and Fuel Association |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | on its many contributions to the state and extend to its members |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | best wishes for a rewarding Texas Food and Fuel Association Day |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | at the Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
