| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Harlan N. Jasper, who retired on January 31, 2019, from |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts after more than |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 28 years of outstanding service to the state; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Harlan Jasper served the comptroller's office |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | with distinction over the course of a career in which he held a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | number of important positions in the field of information |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | technology; he served as a lead application testing analyst, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | mainframe support technician, financial applications migration |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | technician, and senior DB2 database administrator; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, He played a vital role in such key projects as the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | implementation of Endeavor change control, multiple database |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | upgrades, and numerous disaster recovery exercises; talented and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | resourceful, he handled his many responsibilities with |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | exceptional efficiency and dedication; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Jasper is an active member of Ebenezer Third |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon, is a member of the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | men's chorus, and is a Royal Ambassadors leader; throughout his |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | career, he was blessed with the love and support of his wife, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Tona, and his daughters, Jadese and Jada; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Office of the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Harlan N. Jasper on his exceptional |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Office of the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Comptroller of Public Accounts and extend to him best wishes for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
