5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |

6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Barbara Passmore Cline, who died |
---|
7 | 7 | | December 21, 2018, at the age of 91; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Cline was born February 13, 1927, in |
---|
9 | 9 | | Corpus Christi; she attended Texas Woman's University, and she |
---|
10 | 10 | | married the love of her life, the late Robert Lee Cline; and |
---|
11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, She and her beloved husband of 29 years were |
---|
12 | 12 | | blessed with three daughters, Catherine Marie Cline, Carol Susan |
---|
13 | 13 | | Lee, and the late Cynthia Louise Meyers; her six grandchildren, |
---|
14 | 14 | | 13 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild were a source |
---|
15 | 15 | | of much pride and joy for her; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, She and Mr. Cline were active supporters of the |
---|
17 | 17 | | Girl Scouting movement and were recipients of the Thanks Badge, |
---|
18 | 18 | | the highest honor awarded for service; they both loved nature and |
---|
19 | 19 | | the outdoors; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, After Bob's death, Barbara became active in |
---|
21 | 21 | | politics and was the first woman to serve as chair of the Nueces |
---|
22 | 22 | | County Democratic Party; she also served for more than 30 years |
---|
23 | 23 | | as a precinct chair and was instrumental in the creation of |
---|
24 | 24 | | Nueces County's first Democratic Party women's organization; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, She was a woman of courage, wisdom, and integrity |
---|
26 | 26 | | who gave unselfishly to others and to the community; she lived |
---|
27 | 27 | | each day to the fullest and was a devoted wife, mother, and |
---|
28 | 28 | | grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be |
---|
29 | 29 | | treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, |
---|
30 | 30 | | be it |

31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
---|
32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
---|
33 | 33 | | family of Barbara Passmore Cline; and, be it further |

34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
---|
35 | 35 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
---|
36 | 36 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
