| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join |

| 3 | 3 | | citizens from around the state in celebrating February 26, 2019, |

| 4 | 4 | | as Texas Pharmacy Day at the Capitol; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Pharmacists are true champions of health care, |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | and they are committed to the health and well-being of their |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | patients; in addition to ensuring that customers are properly |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | advised on their medications, they serve as a primary point of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | contact between health care systems and more than 62 million |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Americans; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Local pharmacists ensure that patients have |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | access to affordable, life-saving medications in rural areas |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | across Texas and the nation; often, pharmacists serve as leaders |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in their communities, and they build lasting relationships with |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | customers through shared experiences at church, school, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | community functions; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, On February 26, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and pharmacy students from across the state are visiting Austin and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the State Capitol; it is an excellent opportunity to recognize the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | pharmacy profession and to thank Texas pharmacists for their valued |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | contributions to quality health care in our state; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend pharmacists throughout the state for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | their dedication to the patients they serve and extend to the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | visiting delegation best wishes for a memorable Texas Pharmacy |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Day at the Capitol; and, be it further |
