| 3 | 3 | | Association are gathering in Austin on February 20, 2019, to |

| 4 | 4 | | celebrate Texas BOMA Advocacy Day at the State Capitol; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1937 as the state federated |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | organization of BOMA International, Texas BOMA represents the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | interests of stakeholders in the commercial real estate |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | business; it is composed of 2,500 members and six federated |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | associations in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Houston, and San Antonio; as leaders in a vital industry, its |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | members support over 109,000 jobs, provide $3.2 billion in new |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | personal earnings, and contribute more than $13.8 billion to the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | state economy; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Texas BOMA is aligned with its parent |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | organization and local affiliates in working to reduce the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | environmental impact of development by advancing energy |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | efficiency and sustainability initiatives; since 2007, BOMA |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | International has been honored by the Environmental Protection |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Agency and the United States Department of Energy with numerous |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Partner of the Year Awards; and |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, For more than eight decades, Texas BOMA has served |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | as a voice for those who work in the commercial real estate |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | industry while helping to promote responsible building |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | practices, and the organization's legislative day provides a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | welcome opportunity to recognize the dedicated efforts of its |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | membership; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby recognize February 20, 2019, as Texas |
