| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce, the |

| 5 | 5 | | Leadership Rowlett program provides opportunities for |

| 6 | 6 | | participants to meet other local civic and business leaders and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | to learn more about the city's history, government, economy, and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | social concerns; the curriculum combines lectures, dialogue, and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | interaction to stimulate a cooperative environment and to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | encourage the development of personal, organizational, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | community leadership skills; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1924, the Rowlett Chamber of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Commerce serves as the voice of the city's business community, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | helping its members accomplish what no single member or business |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | could do alone; the chamber works to create programs to enhance |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the general welfare and prosperity of Rowlett by promoting the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | steady and balanced economic well-being of the community, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | over the past 95 years, it has played a vital role in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | development of Rowlett from a small agricultural town to a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | modern, rapidly growing city; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Endeavoring to build a more informed and involved |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | citizenry and to cultivate new leaders in the region, this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | invaluable program, and all those associated with it, are helping |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | to ensure a bright future for the Lone Star State; now, |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
