| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Williamson County is among the fastest-growing |

| 3 | 3 | | counties in the nation; its population of 547,545 has had an |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | increase of over 29 percent since 2010, and employment has |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | increased by more than 80 percent since 2010; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Williamson County is home to one of the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | fastest-growing health care hubs in America; its five hospitals |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and the Texas A&M Health Science Center have contributed to an |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | increase in health care employment of over 55 percent since 2000; |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the county has been ranked as one of the healthiest counties in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Texas for eight consecutive years; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Williamson County is a center for higher learning |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and offers a variety of educational opportunities at historic |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Southwestern University, Texas State University-Round Rock, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Austin Community College, and the East Williamson County Higher |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Education Center; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The transportation infrastructure of Williamson |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | County continues to be expanded to accommodate the area's growth |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and to ensure the safety of its residents and visitors; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, With one of the lowest crime rates anywhere, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Williamson County is among the safest places in the nation, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Georgetown have been listed among the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | best places in America in which to live, launch a new business, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and retire; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Williamson County is the proud home of the Houston |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Astros Triple A affiliate team, the Round Rock Express; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Williamson County is renowned for its exceptional |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | quality of life, and its residents are noted for their |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | hospitality, goodwill, and civic engagement and for the care and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | support they show for neighbors in need; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby proclaim February 21, 2019, Williamson |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | County Day; and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | the citizens of Williamson County as an expression of high regard |
|---|
