4	4	Garrett Willis Hull
5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	6	commemorates the life of Corporal Garrett Willis Hull of the Fort
7	7	Worth Police Department, who died in the line of duty on
8	8	September 14, 2018, at the age of 41; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Garrett Hull was an exemplary citizen and peace
10	10	officer whose integrity, strength, and commitment to protecting
11	11	others had a profound impact on the lives of all who were
12	12	privileged to share in his life; and
13	13	WHEREAS, He was born into a family with a legacy of public
14	14	service; his grandfather and uncle served in the Texas House of
15	15	Representatives, and he served the people of Fort Worth with
16	16	distinction for 17 years as a member of the Fort Worth Police
17	17	Department; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Corporal Hull
19	19	served in a variety of specialized tactical units, including the
20	20	Special Response Team, the Narcotics Division, and the Tactical
21	21	Intelligence Division; he also took part in joint efforts with
22	22	the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of
23	23	Investigation; and
24	24	WHEREAS, He was known among his fellow officers for his
25	25	courage, his quick thinking, and his willingness to be the first
26	26	man in and the last man out; he was respected and admired
27	27	throughout the department, and his commitment to public service
28	28	was an inspiration to all those with whom he served; and
29	29	WHEREAS, Garrett was preceded in death by his brother, Tom
30	30	Hull; left to mourn his loss are his beloved wife, Sabrina Hull;
31	31	his daughters, Jordan and Tristen; his parents, Dalyne and James
32	32	Hull; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jami and Jason Kern and
33	33	Natalie and Matthew Aten; and his nephews and niece, Zachary,
34	34	Andrew, and Abigail; and
35	35	WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves
36	36	behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and
37	37	countless friends; now, therefore, be it
38	38	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
39	39	Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
40	40	family of Garrett Willis Hull; and, be it further
41	41	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
42	42	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
43	43	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
44	44	memory of Garrett Hull.
