44 Glen L. Rekeweg
55 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
66 commemorates the life of Glen L. Rekeweg, who died December 30,
77 2018, at the age of 78; and
88 WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generous spirit,
99 Glen Rekeweg was an exemplary citizen, and he inspired those who
1010 knew him through his commitment to service on behalf of his
1111 fellow man; and
1212 WHEREAS, Mr. Rekeweg was a member of the Kingwood
1313 Volunteer Fire Department, and he also served as a member of the
1414 Atascocita Fire Department; he bravely managed the duties of a
1515 firefighter, and he was respected and admired by his colleagues
1616 and area citizens; and
1717 WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Glen shared 29 years of
1818 marriage with Alice Rekeweg, and he was blessed with three
1919 children, James, Suzanne, and David, and with three
2020 grandchildren; and
2121 WHEREAS, Glen actively served the Republican Party at
2222 local, state, and national levels, and he was an avid ham radio
2323 operator; he was a longtime member of Christ the King Lutheran
2424 Church; and
2525 WHEREAS, Glen Rekeweg was a beloved member of the
2626 community, and he leaves behind memories that will long be
2727 cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
2828 therefore, be it
2929 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
3030 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
3131 family of Glen L. Rekeweg; and, be it further
3232 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3333 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
3434 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3535 memory of Glen Rekeweg.
