| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Glen L. Rekeweg, who died December 30, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2018, at the age of 78; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generous spirit, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Glen Rekeweg was an exemplary citizen, and he inspired those who |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | knew him through his commitment to service on behalf of his |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fellow man; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rekeweg was a member of the Kingwood |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Volunteer Fire Department, and he also served as a member of the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Atascocita Fire Department; he bravely managed the duties of a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | firefighter, and he was respected and admired by his colleagues |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and area citizens; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Glen shared 29 years of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | marriage with Alice Rekeweg, and he was blessed with three |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | children, James, Suzanne, and David, and with three |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Glen actively served the Republican Party at |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | local, state, and national levels, and he was an avid ham radio |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | operator; he was a longtime member of Christ the King Lutheran |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Church; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Glen Rekeweg was a beloved member of the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | community, and he leaves behind memories that will long be |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | family of Glen L. Rekeweg; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | memory of Glen Rekeweg. |
