| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Grandview High School Zebras varsity football |

| 4 | 4 | | team, which recently won the Class 3A Division I state |

| 5 | 5 | | championship title; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Grandview Zebras were victorious in their |

| 7 | 7 | | first appearance at the state finals, defeating the Malakoff |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Tigers by a score of 35-21 in a hard-fought game on December 20, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 2018; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | talent and perseverance throughout the school year, and team |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | members can take pride in their outstanding performance; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, With the exceptional guidance of head coach Brad |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Davis and assistant coach Ryan Ebner and the additional |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | leadership and support of team captains Brody Smith and Garrett |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Phelps, the Zebras have developed exceptional teamwork and |

| 17 | 17 | | discipline; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Grandview High School and the City of Grandview |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | are proud of the Zebras for their hard work, their impressive |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Grandview High School Zebras |

| 23 | 23 | | varsity football team on their successful season and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | congratulate them on winning the Class 3A Division I state |
|---|
