| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|---|
| 3 | 3 | | recognize PediPlace, which has provided quality health care to |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | children in North Texas for 25 years; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, On July 2, 1993, a group of physicians and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | business and civic leaders established PediPlace to provide |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | health care for uninsured and Medicaid-eligible children in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Denton County; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, PediPlace soon proved to be a successful model of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | care for the underserved in the county, and in 1996, the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | organization expanded its services to provide health care to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | children throughout the North Texas region; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, PediPlace has continued to meet the needs of local |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | communities by expanding facilities and upgrading clinics and by |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | staying on the cutting-edge of pediatric care; in 2011, the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | organization fully transitioned to an electronic records and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | scheduling system; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, PediPlace has been honored for innovation by the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Texas Association of Charitable Clinics, and it has been |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | recognized on numerous occasions for excellence in both standards |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | of care and nonprofit administration and management; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The doctors and staff at PediPlace have bridged |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | health care gaps in North Texas and have helped thousands of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | young citizens build healthy foundations for the future, and all |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | associated with the health care system can take pride in 25 years |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | of success; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend all who have contributed to the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | success of PediPlace and congratulate them on the medical |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | system's 25th anniversary; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | this health care organization as an expression of esteem from the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Texas Senate. |
