1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 260
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize Fidel Esteban Mendoza, who is retiring on February 28,
4	4	2019, from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts after
5	5	more than 42 years of outstanding service to the state; and
6	6	WHEREAS, Fidel Mendoza began his distinguished career in
7	7	the comptroller's office with the Houston Audit Office in July of
8	8	1976, after earning a degree in accounting from the University of
9	9	Houston; in 1980, he played an important role in opening the New
10	10	York City Audit Office before returning to Texas in 1981 to work
11	11	in the McAllen Audit Office; and
12	12	WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Mr. Mendoza received a
13	13	number of promotions through the years, and he is retiring with
14	14	the title of Auditor V; he is a recognized expert in the field of
15	15	sales tax audits, and he has served under five comptrollers, Bob
16	16	Bullock, John Sharp, Carol Keeton Strayhorn, Susan Combs, and
17	17	Glenn Hegar; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has been noted for his
19	19	professionalism, his courtesy toward others, and his commitment
20	20	to excellence; and
21	21	WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Mr. Mendoza is
22	22	respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the
23	23	Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly
24	24	missed; now, therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
26	26	Legislature, hereby commend Fidel Esteban Mendoza on his
27	27	exceptional service to the people of Texas as an employee of the
28	28	Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts and extend to him
29	29	best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be
30	30	it further
31	31	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
32	32	him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
