| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Star Fest Cookoff, which is taking place March 22 |

| 4 | 4 | | and 23, 2019, at Riverside Park in Brownwood; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding event is sponsored by the |

| 6 | 6 | | Santana Eastern Star Chapter 247, and it is sanctioned by the |

| 7 | 7 | | Lonestar Barbecue Society as one of the organization's state |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | championship cook-offs; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The cook-off offers prizes in several categories |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and also features a fishing tournament for kids, and proceeds |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | from the event provide funding for scholarship programs; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the Star Fest Cookoff is sure to provide outstanding cuisine to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | satisfy the most discriminating of palates; now, therefore, be it |

| 15 | 15 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 16 | 16 | | Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors of and participants in |

| 17 | 17 | | the Star Fest Cookoff and extend to them best wishes for a |

| 18 | 18 | | successful event; and, be it further |
