| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Arturo Elias Ayub, who has been named Mr. Amigo 2018; and |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious honor is awarded each year |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | during the Charro Days Fiesta to a Mexican citizen who has |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | contributed greatly to the friendship and understanding between |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the United States and Mexico; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Arturo Elias Ayub is a businessman and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | philanthropist from Mexico City; he currently serves as chief |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | executive officer of Multimedia and Strategic Alliances of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | América Móvil and of the TELMEX Telcel Foundation, director of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Uno TV, and president of the Instituto TELMEX del Deporte; he |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | also serves on the boards of numerous successful businesses; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Elias Ayub has played an important role in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | promoting an array of projects in the fields of education, health |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | care, human development, and natural disaster relief, and he has |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | been a strong supporter of sports with a social purpose; the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | TELMEX Telcel Foundation received the 2013 Social Responsibility |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and Sustainable Growth Award for its work in organizing the 2012 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Homeless World Cup; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Arturo Elias Ayub has been instrumental in |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | creating numerous international strategic alliances, and it is |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | fitting that his efforts receive special recognition; now, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Arturo Elias Ayub on his many |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | contributions to the relationship between the United States and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Mexico and extend congratulations to him on his selection as |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Mr. Amigo 2018; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
