| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of the late Peggy Joyce Jeffreys Wood; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Peggy Wood was born on January 11, 1934, in Wake |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | County, North Carolina, to Willie Russell Jeffreys and Janie Sue |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Myatt; she lived with her beloved aunt and uncle, Iris and Dave |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Dallas, during her teenage years; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, She and her first husband, Ashley Britt, were |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | blessed with three children, Kevin Lynn Britt and the late Donald |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and Steven Britt; she later married Irvin Wood, and they were |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | blessed with a daughter, Lisa Ivie Miller; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, She pursued numerous professional opportunities |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | through the years, including owning and operating a Diamond |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Shamrock gas station and working with the Amarillo Globe-News; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | she especially took great pleasure in her work at the Amarillo |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Senior Citizens Center; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, After her retirement, she moved to Austin to be |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | close to her daughter and her family; she was blessed with six |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | grandchildren, who knew her as TuTu and who were a source of much |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | pride and joy for her; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and generosity, she |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | gave unselfishly to others, and her enthusiasm for living each |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, She was devoted to her family, and she leaves |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | behind memories that will be cherished forever by all who were |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | family of Peggy Joyce Jeffreys Wood; and, be it further |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 34 | 34 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |

| 35 | 35 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
