| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join the people of Grapevine in celebrating March 6, 2019, as |

| 4 | 4 | | Leadership Grapevine Day at the Capitol; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Grapevine is an initiative of the |

| 6 | 6 | | City of Grapevine and the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce that |

| 7 | 7 | | offers opportunities for participants to increase their |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | knowledge of important local, regional, and state issues and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to meet with the leaders that make policy decisions that affect |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | their communities; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding program is designed to inspire a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | spirit of civic activism; it provides its participants with |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | training in leadership, opportunities for networking, and insight |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | from leaders in the public and private sectors alike; it covers an |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | array of relevant topics, including municipal government, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | education, economic development, and historic preservation; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Grapevine is a vital part of the drive |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | to develop a new generation of civic leaders and to build a more |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | informed and involved citizenry, and it is truly fitting that a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | day be set aside to celebrate its outstanding role in the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members and alumni of Leadership |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Grapevine for their civic leadership and volunteerism and extend |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to them and all participants best wishes for a productive |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Leadership Grapevine Day at the Capitol; and, be it further |
