| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | welcome the delegation from the Northwest Metroport Chamber of |

| 4 | 4 | | Commerce and the participants in its leadership program, |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Regional Advantage, on the occasion of their visit to the State |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Capitol on March 6, 2019; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Northwest Metroport Chamber of Commerce has |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | developed an exemplary leadership program to assist citizens in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the region who aspire to become the leaders of tomorrow; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The leadership program consists of 10 sessions, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | each with a different focus; the sessions provide students with a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | thorough understanding of the needs of their communities and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | address issues in such areas as local government, economic |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | development, transportation, health, and education; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Students in the program learn how the seven |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | communities in their region work individually and together to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | address the needs of area citizens; they develop leadership |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | skills that will help them to excel in the workplace, and they |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | learn about the advantages of networking; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Regional Advantage promotes a spirit of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | volunteerism and community pride while developing an informed |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and engaged citizenry; all associated with the program are |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | deserving of recognition for helping to build a brighter and more |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | prosperous future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Northwest Metroport |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Chamber of Commerce and the participants in Regional Advantage for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | their commitment to their communities and extend to all best wishes |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | for a rewarding visit to the Capitol; and, be it further |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
