55 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
66 commemorates the life of Duane Miller, who died August 15, 2018,
77 at the age of 61; and
88 WHEREAS, Duane Miller was born to Marshall and Jane Miller
99 on August 12, 1957, in Charleston, Illinois; he grew up in
1010 Bloomington, Illinois, and he developed a passion for golf during
1111 his childhood when he began playing the game with his brother and
1212 father; and
1313 WHEREAS, Duane graduated from Illinois State University,
1414 and he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to begin working with BP Amoco;
1515 he was transferred to Houston and back to Tulsa during his career
1616 with the company, and he later moved to Austin to work for Dell
1717 Technologies; and
1818 WHEREAS, A kind, joyful, and hardworking individual, Duane
1919 never tired of friends, music, or time on the golf course, and he
2020 found great fulfillment in working with the Make-A-Wish
2121 Foundation; he was beloved by many, and he will long be
2222 remembered with respect and admiration by all who were privileged
2323 to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
2525 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
2626 family of Duane Miller; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2828 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
2929 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3030 memory of Duane Miller.
