| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |

| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Duane Miller, who died August 15, 2018, |

| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 61; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Duane Miller was born to Marshall and Jane Miller |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | on August 12, 1957, in Charleston, Illinois; he grew up in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Bloomington, Illinois, and he developed a passion for golf during |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | his childhood when he began playing the game with his brother and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | father; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Duane graduated from Illinois State University, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to begin working with BP Amoco; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | he was transferred to Houston and back to Tulsa during his career |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | with the company, and he later moved to Austin to work for Dell |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Technologies; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A kind, joyful, and hardworking individual, Duane |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | never tired of friends, music, or time on the golf course, and he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | found great fulfillment in working with the Make-A-Wish |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Foundation; he was beloved by many, and he will long be |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | remembered with respect and admiration by all who were privileged |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to share in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | family of Duane Miller; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
