| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Leon High School varsity cheerleading squad, which |

| 4 | 4 | | recently won the University Interscholastic League Class 2A |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | state championship; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Leon High School cheerleading squad won the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | state title in a thrilling competition held before a crowd of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | spectators at the Fort Worth Convention Center; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, These motivated students have demonstrated great |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | talent and perseverance throughout the school year; they worked |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | diligently to earn their shot at the state championship and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | ultimately outperformed 34 squads from around the state; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Leon High School squad placed first in Band |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Chant, first in Fight Song, and second in Cheer in the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | preliminaries and finished the finals in first place; team members |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | can indeed take pride in their outstanding performances; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of cheer coach Misty |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Bumpurs, members of the Leon High School varsity cheerleading |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | squad have developed exceptional teamwork and discipline; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Leon High School and members of the community are |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | proud of the squad for their hard work, their impressive skills, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Leon High School varsity |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | cheerleading squad on their successful season and congratulate |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | them on winning the Class 2A state championship; and, be it |
