| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize William Henry Peckham III on the grand occasion of his |

| 4 | 4 | | 90th birthday; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, William Peckham was born on March 11, 1929, in |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Houston; his distinguished family tree includes many notable |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | state and national leaders, among them United States Supreme |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Court Justice Rufus Wheeler Peckham; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Peckham enjoyed a long and productive career |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | as an entrepreneur; his professional experience encompasses |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | ownership of several businesses, including the Hamm's Beer |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Distributing Company in Fort Bend County, West End Lumber, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Peckhamhurst Farm, and Round Rock Travel and Tours, a business |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | that was named Round Rock Small Business of the Year in 2015 and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | is now owned by his son; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Peckham has been blessed with a wonderful |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | family; his five children, 11 grandchildren, and five |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | great-grandchildren are a source of great pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A true Renaissance man, Mr. Peckham has played |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | basketball against the Harlem Globetrotters, owned and cared for |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | an array of exotic animals, and found notable success in the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | horse-racing community; he is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | member of the Sons of the American Revolution; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, He has lived in Round Rock since 1982 and is a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | respected and beloved member of the community, and his birthday |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | is indeed cause for celebration among his many friends and loved |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | ones; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby recognize William Henry Peckham III as a |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | treasured citizen of the Lone Star State and extend to him |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | congratulations on his 90th birthday; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
