| 5 | 5 | | way to the regional semifinals in the 4A playoffs; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, In the regular season, the Lady Hawks were |

| 7 | 7 | | undefeated in district competition and collected the 15-4A |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | crown; they went on to secure commanding playoff victories over |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Chapel Hill and Crandall High Schools before facing off against |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Brownsboro in the regional quarterfinals; the teams were locked |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in a hard-fought battle throughout the game, but clutch shooting |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in the final minute of play earned Pleasant Grove a 54-51 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | victory; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The Lady Hawks then advanced to the regional |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | semifinal round to meet Dallas Lincoln High; the Pleasant Grove |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | players gave a valiant performance but ultimately fell to the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Lady Tigers, finishing the year with an impressive record of 29 |

| 18 | 18 | | wins and just four losses; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the squad |

| 20 | 20 | | received valuable contributions from each member of the roster |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | over the course of the 2018-2019 campaign; these dedicated |

| 22 | 22 | | athletes benefited from the leadership of head coach Marsha |

| 23 | 23 | | Cowling and assistant coaches Steve Morris and Chrystal |

| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to |

| 26 | 26 | | give their very best, the members of the Pleasant Grove Lady |

| 27 | 27 | | Hawks basketball team earned the admiration of their fellow |

| 28 | 28 | | students and their many community supporters, and they may indeed |

| 29 | 29 | | reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the Pleasant Grove High School |
