SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 346
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Amigos Del Valle, Incorporated, for its exceptional work
in supporting the senior citizens of the Rio Grande Valley; and
WHEREAS, Amigos Del Valle was chartered in 1974 as a
private, nonprofit organization; its mission is to positively
impact the quality of life in the Rio Grande Valley by providing
diversified and effective human services, community development
activities, and advocacy for low-income families; and
WHEREAS, Amigos Del Valle places special emphasis on
helping senior citizens maintain active, healthy, and
independent lives; its Meals on Wheels program has provided
nearly 25 million meals to tens of thousands of senior citizens,
and the organization has also furnished them with invaluable
transportation and subsidized housing assistance; and
WHEREAS, Amigos Del Valle has improved the lives of
countless people across the Rio Grande Valley, and it is truly
fitting that all associated with the organization receive
special recognition for their invaluable contributions to area
citizens; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
Legislature, hereby commend the management, staff, and volunteers
of Amigos Del Valle, Incorporated, on their commitment to serving
others and extend to them best wishes for the continued success of
the Meals on Wheels program; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this outstanding organization as an expression of high regard
from the Texas Senate.
