| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Amigos Del Valle, Incorporated, for its exceptional work |

| 4 | 4 | | in supporting the senior citizens of the Rio Grande Valley; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Amigos Del Valle was chartered in 1974 as a |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | private, nonprofit organization; its mission is to positively |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | impact the quality of life in the Rio Grande Valley by providing |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | diversified and effective human services, community development |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | activities, and advocacy for low-income families; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Amigos Del Valle places special emphasis on |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | helping senior citizens maintain active, healthy, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | independent lives; its Meals on Wheels program has provided |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | nearly 25 million meals to tens of thousands of senior citizens, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and the organization has also furnished them with invaluable |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | transportation and subsidized housing assistance; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Amigos Del Valle has improved the lives of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | countless people across the Rio Grande Valley, and it is truly |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | fitting that all associated with the organization receive |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | special recognition for their invaluable contributions to area |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend the management, staff, and volunteers |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of Amigos Del Valle, Incorporated, on their commitment to serving |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | others and extend to them best wishes for the continued success of |

| 25 | 25 | | the Meals on Wheels program; and, be it further |
