2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	welcome members of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists as
4	4	they gather in Austin on March 20, 2019, to celebrate Texas
5	5	Anesthesiologists Day at the State Capitol; and
6	6	WHEREAS, A recognized component of the American Society of
7	7	Anesthesiologists, the Texas organization works to promote,
8	8	support, and advance the medical specialty of anesthesiology
9	9	throughout this state; and
10	10	WHEREAS, Founded in 1936, the Texas Society of
11	11	Anesthesiologists works tirelessly to keep its over 3,800
12	12	members abreast of the latest developments in this crucial
13	13	medical field; its members benefit greatly from the society's
14	14	continuing education programs and annual meetings; and
15	15	WHEREAS, This outstanding organization engages in
16	16	legislative and executive advocacy, and, in keeping with the aims
17	17	of the national society, makes invaluable contributions to the
18	18	health and well-being of Texans; and
19	19	WHEREAS, Through a network of committees, the Texas Society
20	20	of Anesthesiologists also allows members to participate in and make
21	21	recommendations on numerous issues that are relevant to the
22	22	profession, including scientific, administrative, and educational
23	23	concerns; and
24	24	WHEREAS, During Texas Anesthesiologists Day at the State
25	25	Capitol, members of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists offer
26	26	important lifesaving training on how to help in a cardiac or
27	27	bleeding emergency to all legislators and Capitol staff; now,
28	28	therefore, be it
29	29	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
30	30	Legislature, hereby recognize March 20, 2019, as Texas
31	31	Anesthesiologists Day at the State Capitol and extend best
32	32	wishes to the participating members of the Texas Society of
33	33	Anesthesiologistsastheycelebratetheoccasion;and,be
34	34	it further
35	35	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
36	36	the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists as an expression of high
37	37	regard from the Texas Senate.
