SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 365 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Kingsville Police Department on the occasion of its inaugural reunion, which is being held January 11 and 12, 2019, at the King Ranch Henrietta Memorial Center; and WHEREAS, The Kingsville Police Department was founded in 1904, and throughout its history, the department has provided the people of Kingsville with outstanding service and has maintained a work environment that benefits its employees and citizens alike; and WHEREAS, Recognizing the importance of communication and interaction among officers for effective police work, the department established a committee to organize a reunion so that the experiences and expertise of former officers could be shared and could continue to have an impact on the department's work; chair of the committee is Joe Munoz, and other members of the committee are Cesar Cavazos, Frank Garza, David Rider, Tony Gonzales, Maggie Fonseca, Sandra Garcia, Julian Cavazos, and Chief Ricardo Torres; and WHEREAS, Through the years, the former and current members of the Kingsville Police Department have handled the unique challenges of law enforcement duty with courage and a deep commitment to public service; it is truly fitting that these exemplary peace officers receive special recognition on the occasion of their reunion; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th Legislature, hereby commend the current and former officers of the Kingsville Police Department on their invaluable service to the community and extend to them best wishes for a rewarding and memorable reunion; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of this special occasion.
