| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Kingsville Police Department on the occasion of its |

| 4 | 4 | | inaugural reunion, which is being held January 11 and 12, 2019, |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | at the King Ranch Henrietta Memorial Center; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Kingsville Police Department was founded in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 1904, and throughout its history, the department has provided the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | people of Kingsville with outstanding service and has maintained |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | a work environment that benefits its employees and citizens |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | alike; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Recognizing the importance of communication and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | interaction among officers for effective police work, the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | department established a committee to organize a reunion so that |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the experiences and expertise of former officers could be shared |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and could continue to have an impact on the department's work; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | chair of the committee is Joe Munoz, and other members of the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | committee are Cesar Cavazos, Frank Garza, David Rider, Tony |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Gonzales, Maggie Fonseca, Sandra Garcia, Julian Cavazos, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Chief Ricardo Torres; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, the former and current members |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | of the Kingsville Police Department have handled the unique |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | challenges of law enforcement duty with courage and a deep |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | commitment to public service; it is truly fitting that these |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | exemplary peace officers receive special recognition on the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | occasion of their reunion; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the current and former officers of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the Kingsville Police Department on their invaluable service to |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | the community and extend to them best wishes for a rewarding and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | memorable reunion; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | honor of this special occasion. |
